BTCV believes there are many difficulties and misconceptions linked to carbon offsetting, primarily because the task of measuring carbon capture by natural means is unreliable.
We encourage organisations and people to reduce their CO2 emissions, rather than continue with existing emission levels and buying offsets. We also encourage pro-environmental behaviours such as saving resources, consuming less and travelling wisely.
