Source to City was a three year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to celebrate and raise awareness and understanding of the built, cultural and environmental heritage associated with the construction of eleven reservoirs in Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in North Yorkshire.

The project worked with schools, youth groups, community groups and disability groups in the AONB (where the water is collected) and the urban conurbations of Harrogate, Leeds and Bradford (where the water is supplied).

A key element of the project was to reach out to social and economically disadvantaged groups to demonstrate how urban and rural communities are joined by a shared heritage and create links between them.

Learning and recreation will communicate the significance of these heritage places within schools, community groups and the wider public through themed activity sessions, guided walks, talks and celebration events.

For more information please visit the Nidderdale AONB website.
