Secondments

There are many ways in which people can take a secondment or placement in BTCV. We have opportunities for people who have experience and skills and want to bring them into the voluntary sector. A secondment with BTCV can also bring personal and organisational benefits from learning new skills.

The employer benefits by:

  • testing people’s abilities and having a more outward looking and widely skilled staff base
  • creating a more flexible organisation
  • understanding the broader aspects of policy making· bridging the ‘culture gap’
  • building up networks of useful contacts in other organisations
  • bringing back knowledge and good practice from organisations in other sectors
  • contributing to Investors in People

The individual benefits by:

  • developing the ability to transfer skills
  • developing confidence and flexibility
  • building networks
  • testing and gaining skills in a new environment
  • gaining a broader outlook
