Secondments
There are many ways in which people can take a secondment or placement in BTCV. We have opportunities for people who have experience and skills and want to bring them into the voluntary sector. A secondment with BTCV can also bring personal and organisational benefits from learning new skills.
The employer benefits by:
- testing people’s abilities and having a more outward looking and widely skilled staff base
- creating a more flexible organisation
- understanding the broader aspects of policy making· bridging the ‘culture gap’
- building up networks of useful contacts in other organisations
- bringing back knowledge and good practice from organisations in other sectors
- contributing to Investors in People
The individual benefits by:
- developing the ability to transfer skills
- developing confidence and flexibility
- building networks
- testing and gaining skills in a new environment
- gaining a broader outlook
