Training for Qualifications
BTCV offers a wide range of qualifications in areas that include practical environmental and land-based subjects such as conservation, horticulture and landscaping. We also help people gain awards in IT and office skills, and offer personal skills development too.
Getting a qualification can give you a real sense of achievement and a confidence boost – and can provide you with a goal or focus if you need that to get yourself motivated with your learning.
Range of qualifications
Many of the short courses run by BTCV offer a qualification. In England, all those approved within the BTCV Institute for Environmental Conservation offer either an NCFE accredited award or Institute certification.
BTCV’s long courses also enable you to progress through various qualification routes.
Nationally recognised qualifications available with BTCV include awards from:
- OCN (Open College Network)
- NPTC (National Proficiency Tests Council)
- City & Guilds
- OCR (Oxford and Cambridge RSA)
- BCS (British Computer Society)
- ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management)
Duration
Most of our short courses last between 1 and 3 days.
Our long courses typically last from 10 to 40 weeks, although this can be longer in some cases, depending on the programme, the qualification and on you.
The BTCV Institute for Environmental Conservation
The Institute operates throughout England, and holds the NCFE Investors in Quality kitemark for its systems and practices in training, which means learners can gain national NCFE accredited qualifications with us.
