BTCV in Action
Signing up for a day with BTCV at Waltham Forest needn’t be all hard work.
Though we operate a regular programme of traditional task days, tackling everything from undergrowth clearance to wild flower meadow planting and waterway dredging to fencing, we also offer the chance to enjoy the environment in a more relaxing way – through our summer walks programme.
With plenty of royal forest and green spaces to choose from you can join us for a less demanding workout and maybe learn a little about the local environment and history at the same time.
We also work with schools and local communities planning and managing grounds improvement projects, providing the initial expertise and then supporting and training parents and interested individuals to manage the tasks themselves.
We have also worked with specific schools to run junior versions of BTCVs award-winning Green Gym – offering non-sporty youngsters a chance to engage with nature and work out in a practical, social but slightly different way growing fruit and vegetables or maintaining a wildlife garden.
For full details of what is currently planned check our task programme.
