List of walks

If you’re interested in walking in Leeds, there are lots of opportunities to take part in group walks. Walks are organised by a variety of organisations and groups and most are led by volunteers. They range from short (under an hour) health walks in a local area to longer rural hikes. Please see the list below for a walk that’s suitable for you…

MONDAYS

  • Headingley Walks Meet at 10.30am at Burton Croft Surgery, Burton Crescent (off Otley Road) for short walks. For more info contact Fiona at Active4Life on 0113 2783779.

  • Potternewton Strollers Meet at 10.30am at St. Martin’s Practice, Chapeltown Road for short health walks for the over 50s. For more info contact Hillary or Jaki on 3504200.
  • Fit For Footpaths Meet at 10am at St Matthews Community Centre, Holbeck for short walks in Holbeck and Beeston. Contact Cynthia at philthia@hirst0218.freeserve.co.uk .
  • Meanwood Strollers Meet at 10.30am outside KFC, Stonegate Road, Meanwood for short health walks for the over 50s. For more info contact Hillary or Jaki on 3504200.
  • Gildersome Health Walks Meet at 1.30pm at Gildersome Baptist Church on alternate Mondays for short, gentle health walks.

TUESDAYS

  • Holt Park Health Walks Meet at 10.30am in the Mall at Asda Holt Park District Centre, LS16 for short walks, occasionally using public transport.
  • Hamara Women’s Group Meet at 1pm at Hamara, Tempest Road, Beeston for women’s walks in green spaces around Leeds. Contact Hamara on 2773330.
  • Leeds YHA Walking Group Different meeting points for evening walks of 4+ miles in Leeds and beyond. (Spring and Summer only) See www.leedsyha.org.uk for more details.

WEDNESDAYS

  • Otley Short Walks Meet every Wednesday at 10.30am at Otley Courthouse for short walks, occasionally using public transport.
  • Horsforth Health Walks Meet at 10am outside Morrison’s Supermarket on Town Street for 1-2 hour walks. For more information contact Lyn Cadmore at billz.hunni@virgin.net .

  • Hamara Men’s Group Meet at 9.30am at Hamara, Tempest Road, Beeston for men’s walks in green spaces around Leeds. Contact Arshed at Hamara on 2773330.
  • Seacroft Strollers Meet at Seacroft Bus Station at 10.30am for short, local walks for the over 50s. For more info contact Hillary or Jaki on 3504200.
  • One Hour Walks with Leeds Health Walks Different meeting points for leisurely one hour walks around Leeds on the last Wednesday of the month. See www.lhw.zoomshare.com for more details.

THURSDAYS

  • All Being Well Health Walks Meet at 11am at the entrance to Leeds Bus Station, (opposite Mecca bingo) for short walks. Contact Zest-Health for Life on 2425096.
  • Leeds Countryside Walks Programme Different meeting points for a variety of walks with Leeds Countryside Rangers every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Contact Dan Malster on 0113 2375268 for more information.

FRIDAYS

  • Aireborough Walking Club Meet at Aireborough Leisure Centre at 10am for short walks. The last Friday of the month is a longer walk with alternative meeting points please contact David at david.wild53@ntlworld.com for more details.

SATURDAY/SUNDAY
