Accredited Training

BTCV now has 50 years of experience delivering training to conservation volunteers and professionals. Increasingly, BTCV have been developing their training repertoire to reflect the changing needs of the conservation movement. Accredited training has become an increasingly important part of the services that BTCV provides external organisations.

Long Courses

NVQs are offered in Land Based Operations at level 1 and Environmental Conservation at level 2 from our team in Ninfield and Lewes in East Sussex. These courses cover many different aspects of practical conservation work.

Specialist Courses and Assessment

We also offer specialist short courses to get you up to speed with a range of machinery such as chainsaws, brushcutters and chippers. Whether you are looking for a one-day domestic-use workshop or a three-day and NPTC CS30 assessment course, we can help. These are currently demand led and held at BTCV centres in East and West Sussex.

For more details about these courses, contact the South East Training Administrator, Sue Meyer at S.Meyer@btcv.org.uk or phone (01403 730572)

Short Courses

If you are part of an organisation or group that would like to arrange a course for your members or staff, BTCV can tailor courses specifically to your requirements. BTCV can also deliver these courses in a location of your choice or you can utilise one of the many venues that BTCV has access to. BTCV also holds the NCFE Investors in Quality kitemark for training and is a registered OCN centre, which means that learners can also gain NCFE and OCN accredited qualifications.

Courses can range from 6 hours to 60 hours and cover a range of subjects both practical and theoretical. These courses can act as an ideal introduction to conservation training and can add to a student's confidence in their ability to achieve accreditation. Assessment methods are flexible and can be tailored to fit diverse ranges of ability levels.
