Insurance

While working with BTCV you are insured for Public Liability and Personal Accident.

Public Liability insurance covers you for claims made against you for negligence or carelessness to others, including other volunteers.

Personal Accident insurance provides limited compensation, regardless of fault, to anyone who is injured while on a BTCV project.

This cover applies only while you are on the worksite. You are not covered for any accident that happens during social activities. BTCV insurance does not cover your personal property against accidental loss or damage.

International Conservation Holidays

People on International Conservation Holidays are insured automatically within the cost of the holiday for Personal Accident, Personal Liability (up to £1 million), and Medical, Travel & Cancellation expenses.

The cover also includes a 24 Emergency Assistance Telephone Number for medical and other advice, Personal Baggage insurance up to £1,000 and cover for Money and Documents up to £500.

UK Natural Break and Action Break Holidays

People on these UK holidays are covered for Public Liability and Personal Accident while working on the project.

For an additional premium (£5 for up to 8 day holidays, and £10 for holidays between 9 and 17 days) people can buy insurance to cover: other activities during their free time travel to and from the holiday loss of personal belongings.

This gives Personal Accident cover for the duration of the holiday; medical expenses, cover for loss of personal belongings up to a maximum of £750, and a breakdown clause covering the journey to the holiday site.
