Get more involved

"The difference between BTCV and many organisations is that with BTCV you can end up being in charge!"

When you volunteer with BTCV you can choose to become more involved than just turning up at the work site.

You can be involved in:

  • organising projects
  • leading projects
  • developing how we run projects
  • supporting and promoting the organisation

Read these personal stories of people's experience with BTCV

Here's how you can be more involved. Click on the following opportunities to find out more.

If you want to get more involved with BTCV, we'll need to know more about you. There's a simple form to download, complete and return to us. We need to know about your experience and skills. If you're going to be working with young or vulnerable people, we'll need to make checks with the Criminal Records Bureau. We may need references too.

Members of the Board

The Board of Trustees govern BTCV by setting policy and guiding the organisation. The Chief Executive works with the Chairman and Board to ensure operational commitments deliver the charity's strategic approach. Read more about the Board and roles of the Trustees in the Governance section.

Vice Presidents

These are people who by their position can help to communicate BTCV's message, through advocacy, influence and raising the profile. Some of our VPs are experts in their field - Sir David Attenborough, Jonathon Porritt and Bill Oddie. Dr William Bird, the Oxfordshire GP who worked with BTCV to found the Green Gym, is also a VP.

If you would like to know more about becoming a Member of the Board or a Vice President please contact the Chief Executive's office on 020 7843 4298, or e-mail information@btcv.org.uk
