VISION: A better environment where people are valued included and involved.


MISSION: To create a more sustainable future by inspiring people and improving places.


TARGETS: 2004 – 2008

  • Enrich the lives of 1 Million, through involvement with BTCV, volunteering opportunities, employment, improved health, and life skills development
  • Improve the biodiversity and local environment of 20,000 places
  • Support active citizenship in 5,000 community based groups


BTCV TRUSTEES

BTCV is governed by a board of 6 volunteer trustees elected by the charity membership


VOLUNTEERS

BTCV currently supports 140,000 volunteers to take practical action to improve their urban and rural environments.


STAFF AND OFFICES

  • 4 country Offices: BTCV England, Conservation Volunteers Northern Ireland , BTCV Scotland and BTCV Cymru
  • 9 England Regional offices
  • 134 offices
  • 514 full time and 148 part time employees
  • 300 Volunteer officers


COMMUNITY GROUPS

BTCV currently supports both directly and indirectly

  • 2225 local community groups involving over 106,000 people


CONSERVATION HOLIDAYS

BTCV operates practical conservation holidays in over 20 countries world-wide. In 2004 there were:

  • 210 UK Conservation Holidays
  • 72 International Conservation Holidays


BTCV TRAINING

BTCV has a complete training programme that covers topics from practical conservation to personal development including:

  • 42 Long Courses
  • Over 1,000 Short Courses
