Young People’s Projects
We are now running the Routes programme aimed at young people aged 14-18 or up to 24 for LLDD who are not in education, employment or training, or who are at risk of not being in education.
Routes is a one to one mentoring project with the emphasis on learning and obtaining future goals. Each young person is allocated a mentor who they can work with for up to one year.
Learners are given the opportunity to attain qualifications aimed at progressing them into further training, education or employment. In addition one to one sessions can include work from some of the example topics detailed below:
Self-esteem and confidence building
Healthy eating and life skills
Relationships and sexual health
Sports and fitness
Team building and communication
Work trials and volunteering
Preparing for employment and learning
Personal budgeting
The work the mentor and the young person carry out together is based entirely on the needs and support that they young person requires and the list above is therefore only a sample of what can be offered.
