BTCV Scotland : Community Mentors

Saturday 4 July 2009

WANTED : Community Mentors

BTCV Scotland is launching a new and innovative Community Mentors programme across Scotland, offering a range of project support and skills to dedicated individuals who want to improve their local environment.

Through an agreed programme of training and work experience, each Community Mentor will be provided with the knowledge and skills to help them make a difference to their own lives and to the areas where they live or work.

Following a preliminary training period, participants will act as 'mentors' helping to develop local community and environmental awareness projects, and encouraging positive change within their own neighbourhoods.

Thirty-eight individuals are now being recruited for the programme which has received funding through the Scottish Government's Environmental Justice Fund.
