- a unique model for international development
BTCV International has developed a unique model for the integration of short-term volunteering projects - BTCV International Conservation Holidays - in international development. The model maximises the engagement between BTCV, local partners and volunteers by ensuring that holidays are an integral part of the development process, rather than 'standing alone' or as an adjunct.
BTCV and community groups across the UK have achieved greener, safer and cleaner environments for everyone to live in. Read the case studies headlined below that show what we can achieve when inspiring people work together.

Awards of £3,000 to £10,000 were available under the People's Places Award Scheme, launched in 2001.
The scheme was aimed at community groups in England living in areas of deprivation, and disadvantaged groups - volunteers making a difference to their community by creating or improving a "people's place".
The grant scheme has closed, but the work was celebrated at a Conference in November 2005.
The Prudential Grass Roots programme is run by BTCV and funded by PRUPIM.
Since 2001 this award-winning programme has helped to drive regeneration for people and wildlife in communities around shopping centres and business parks throughout the UK, which are invested in by Prudential plc and managed by PRUPIM.
