The ETN national programme of short courses is managed by BTCV on behalf of the Environmental Trainers Network. This well-established and renowned training programme is designed primarily for people working in the environmental sector. It is used extensively by voluntary organisations, local authorities and statutory bodies.

Customised Training
If you work in the sector and you know that you and colleagues would like specific training, talk to us first. BTCV provides customised training for a variety of employers. Examples include:

  • Practical conservation skills courses (hedge laying and tree identification) for British Waterways staff
  • Training for a Countryside Agency programme in fundraising and recruiting volunteers
  • Project leadership programmes with English Nature, YHA, Waterways Trust and Sustrans

International Training
BTCV has a worldwide reputation for helping to build capacity and skills development within environmental Non-Governmental Organisations anywhere in the world.

Through a variety of methods from workshops and mentoring to technical support and international residential projects, BTCV International delivers training and offer training products in areas such as:

Waste Awareness Training
BTCV’s Business Environment Centre provides environmental consultancy and training to commerce and industry on waste minimisation and energy efficiency. It also runs the Waste Awareness certificate (foundation level) course developed and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Waste Management.
