BUGG (Buddy Up Green Group)

The BUGG (Buddy up Green Group) project is for young people living in York. The project aims to bring able bodied young people together with peers who have special needs or disabilities to carry out environmental projects as a team. Breaking down social barriers and developing the communication skills and self confidence of all the participants. In 2010 a pilot BUGG project was run with students from Milfield school and York St Johns university. These young people worked with a group from the Children's Society PACT project and SNAPPY to build planters, bird boxes and do other environmental activies for the local community. This was a great success and the project is developing further with activites planned for 2012. If you'd like to get involved call Rachel on 01904 644300.
