BTCV South West

This year BTCV will work with 1100 individuals and 208 community groups on over 450 sites in both rural and urban settings across the South West.

Bringing benefits to the South West

By giving time, energy and experience to improve the environment people can improve their own lives and surroundings:

  • Gaining knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications
  • Developing confidence and an increased sense of self-worth
  • Improving mental and physical health
  • Making new friends and broadening horizons
  • Making sustainable environmental improvements
  • Promoting biodiversity

Opportunities for everyone

Although some activities are dependent on local programme funding, most of our offices also run programmes of conservation activities that are open to all.

Key themes of our work across the region are:

Environments for All
Working with diverse individuals and communities, outreaching to people that might not usually get involved in volunteering.

Sustainable Communities
Providing practical skills, training and mentoring to enable community groups to become self-sustaining.

Health
Using conservation activities such as Green Gyms and other projects to promote health and well-being.

Young People
A range of short and long term opportunities supporting young people to gain skills, work experience and confidence, bringing benefits to their communities and environments.

Training and Employment
Our raft of programmes support people to gain vocational skills, qualifications and employment, to develop personally whilst improving the environment.
