BTCV in South East England (West & Central Counties)
Welcome to BTCV’s local website for its operations in the geographical counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
Through the work we do, we support, encourage and celebrate volunteers and volunteering. Our work is focused on helping people to give some of their time, skills and enthusiasm, to create and sustain environmental action within local communities. We do this by providing individuals with the necessary knowledge, skills, opportunities and confidence to do so.
Our work locally is co-ordinated by a small, friendly team of seven professional community project officers (not all full-time), eight key volunteers and an area manager. We have offices in Aylesbury, Reading and Chilworth (just outside Southampton).
Special News
We now have an advocate that can help community groups in the South East to apply (or reapply) to the Green Pennant scheme. If you're a member of a local community group that has responsibility for the management of a community greenspace, then you could apply for a Green Pennant to recognise the importance of the work you do. Further information is available here.
We are pleased to be able to let everyone know that we are about to start a new Beach Warden Scheme on Hayling Island. Further information is available here.
We also have a major, new project in Milton Keynes, the Railway Walk Experience. Further information is available here.
