BTCV Essex
Back in Action
Chelmsford's new BTCV task team have been cutting their teeth on all types of vegetation as they carve themselves a niche in the borough's environmental action.
Relaunched in October after a three year break, volunteers have been coppicing, clearing pennywort and soon start on reed clearance at a variety of sites within the borough.
Matt said there were a good core group of regulars for the Friday sessions, but there was still room for more recruits.
Funded by a grant from Chelmsford Borough Council, volunteers are working on projects at sites such as Hylands Park, Galleywood Common and the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.
Interested? Pickup is at 10am from Victoria Road, near the railway station entrance and drop off, at the same point, around 4pm. For more information email essex@btcv.org.uk or call 01206 764470.
