BTCV Avon
Welcome to BTCV Avon. We co-ordinate many practical environmental conservation projects within Avon (Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire) offering many opportunities for people to become involved.
We offer people opportunities to gain new skills and experiences which in turn allows them to make a positive contribution to their local community.
How you could get involved
- Midweek Conservation Group - carries out practical conservation projects every Tuesday and Wednesday
- Weekend Conservation Group - carries out practical conservation projects on Saturdays
- Green Gym - benefit your health whilst also benefiting the environment and your local community
- Tree Life Centre - grow trees from seeds collected locally and grown on-site which are then planted on local community sites with the suppport of its own volunteer team. The Centre also works with a range of different community groups, including local schools and colleges, mental health service users, children & adults with learning difficulties
- Youth Projects - opportunities available for young people to undertake practical conservation projects to improve local community sites
BTCV also offers placements for 16 to 25 year olds on all of the programmes described above. So, if you are interested in conservation and would like to volunteer for a day or more then get in touch and we'd be happy to find an opportunity to suit your interests.
- Training - BTCV's own in-house training courses. From short courses in practical skills, such as dry stone walling, hedgelaying, woodland management, leadership and risk assessment, to long courses such as Diplomas in Environmental Conservation
- Community Projects - BTCV helps local communities with their practical conservation projects. Find out how we could help your community group. Please contact us for more information if you require help with any aspect of your community project.
- South Gloucestershire Community Projects - BTCV also carries out practical environmental improvement work with youth and community groups specifically in South Gloucestershire
- Conservation Holidays - Weekend or week-long projects which are a great way to meet new friends, get away from day-to-day of life and, of course, get lots of conservation work done
