Become a Local Expert

BTCV can help you become a local expert so that you can take your interest in the environment further and bring extra benefits to your community.

Here are some examples of schemes that we run:

  • Tree Wardens
  • Pond Wardens
  • Every Action Counts - Community Champion
  • Beach Wardens
  • Enviro-mentors
  • Compost Wardens

We provide attractive and worthwhile training packages and support systems for people who want to become local experts.

We work with other organisations too:

  • We train the Tree Council's Tree Wardens
  • We work with the Pond Conservation: The Water Habitats Trust on the Pond Warden scheme
  • BTCV is a key partner in the Every Action Counts Programme working throughout England to bring sustainable development/One planet living to community groups/clubs and societies. We are recruiting, training and supporting Every Action Counts - Community Champions to help them take action
  • We work with Wildlife Trusts and local councils to develop Beach Warden schemes
  • We've developed over 89 EnviroMentors in Wales
  • Created the Compost Warden scheme in the South East

If you want to be involved, contact your local office for the nearest scheme.
